The traditional gift for a 30th anniversary is obviously pearls, but Calgary’s hitmen are giving away bronze instead.
The Western Hockey League unveiled its logo and alternate jerseys last week to commemorate its 30th anniversary. They donned the jerseys on the ice for the first time in the 2024-25 season home opener against the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Sunday, Sept. 29.
The anniversary logo is a color-changed version. Hitmen main logonearly every detail on the masked hockey player was switched to copper. The only white in the logo appears on the outermost outline, team name and stick tape, which includes “XXX” to signify the team’s 30 years of existence. The only red in the logo appears below the masked player’s eyes.
Meanwhile, the jersey features a color-changed logo front and center on the chest. The base of the jersey is black with copper and white stripes around the waist and sleeves. The collar is black with white trim.

The back and sleeve numbers are white with black and copper outlines. The name on the back is white with one copper outline. The jersey is paired with black pants and black socks with matching stripes on the sleeves.
The Hitmen’s next game is Wednesday, Oct. 2, against the Saskatoon Blades at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
