It’s already Thursday, which means there’s another freebie in store, courtesy of the Epic Games Store (which gave away so many games last month) and weekly free games. This week’s product is one that you might think you don’t need at first glance, but you’d be wrong because it’s the bland-sounding, but extremely fun Infinifactory.
Infinifactory is a sandbox puzzle game from Zachtronics, creators of SpaceChem and Infiniminer. Build a factory to assemble products for your alien overlord and try not to die in the process.
The factory building genre, which includes Factorio, is very popular, and if you’re into hardcore as much as Factorio is great, Infinifactory will probably let you test out the genre for yourself for free. Once you actually receive the cash into your Epic Games account, any cash will do.
Currently selling for around $25, it’s not a very cheap game. Be sure to grab it before it disappears from the free aisle next Thursday.
If you need a little more information, check out the information from the game’s store page.
- Design and operate your factory in a fully 3D first-person environment.
- Once you’ve optimized your solution and seen how well your friends have achieved it, optimize it further.
- Explore a story-driven campaign with over 50 puzzles, audio logs, and more.
- Beyond campaigns, push the limits of Infinifactory’s next-generation block engine in the sandbox.
Infinifactory has received overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam and is still selling for over $20 some eight years after its 2015 release. Get it for free, try it out, and get the old gray part working once and for all.
