Kristen Karen Bender, senior vice president of digital innovation strategy and business development at UMG, said her team has evaluated more than 1,600 startups and worked directly with 300 of them since its founding.
She revealed the statistics yesterday during a panel session at the Music Ally Connect conference, where she was also scheduled to announce her new initiative. It’s called UMusicLift, and it’s her online hub for music-related startups and their founders.
“You’ll find tools for learning, news, spotlights, all these different resources and pathways that you can use to get back to business,” she said.
Currently, UMusicLift is a splash page where startups can sign up to receive notifications when the hub launches. A hub will be available soon.
“We work hard to understand the goals and needs of these companies, to deepen our understanding of the industry, and to help us navigate our organizations and the various rights they need to secure.” she said.
Tomorrow’s Music Ally Connect Day 2 report will bring you more from the panel.
