Top mathematician predicts Bitcoin will grow 10x in the future, ‘no competition’

In a recent interview with Mark Jeffrey, mathematician Fred Krueger shared his views on Bitcoin, seeing it as a revolutionary force separate from the cryptocurrency market as a whole: He believes Bitcoin will not only survive, but will eventually replace the current financial system.

“There’s very little chance that Bitcoin won’t go 10x from here. From an investment standpoint, I think it’s going to be a great opportunity. Of course, the price can go down and you need nerves of steel to deal with Bitcoin, but it could go 10x and there’s no competition,” he said.

Is Bitcoin a Wise Choice?

According to Kruger, Many cryptocurrencies are marketed as green alternatives to Bitcoin, but their objectives differ. Bitcoin aims to disrupt the traditional monetary system by replacing banks and removing government control over currency issuance. Other cryptocurrencies focus on practical uses, such as facilitating transactions, settling stocks, and enabling smart contracts.

Krueger predicts a significant increase in the price of Bitcoin and increased regulatory scrutiny. However, he believes Bitcoin will eventually replace both banks and the US dollar. He envisions a future where Bitcoin becomes the mainstream currency for everyday transactions on platforms like Amazon, and predicts a time when people will use Bitcoin checkbooks to write checks in Bitcoin.

“Bitcoin is really going to come into its own over the next 10 years. And I think that will change with AI. They’re both going to be big, but I believe Bitcoin will be bigger. This is a bit of an unconventional take because most people in Silicon Valley would argue that AI is going to have a 100 times the impact of Bitcoin, but I actually think Bitcoin will be bigger,” he explained.

The market is abuzz after Bitcoin recently surpassed $60,000. The milestone, which was reached on September 12, 2024, represented an 11.5% increase in one week. However, the price has fallen again and is trading near the crucial $58,500 level.
