The new Welcome Center, which provides one-stop services for St. Clare College students on the University of Windsor’s main campus, is named after the college’s former president, Patti France.
The 16,000-square-foot center has been open since the beginning of the year, but was officially unveiled as the Patti France Welcome Center on Monday. “It is an honor that fills my heart to have this building named after me,” France said in the release. “I hope this facility will help recognize and remember the dedication of myself and all of St. Clare’s current staff, and those who will follow in our footsteps, in our service to our valued students. I hope.”
During her tenure as president, France called for a “one-stop shop” for student services, but the initiative was shelved as the university faced other challenges.
But France persisted.
“Patty, you were right all along,” said St. Clair College President Michael Silvazzi. “As you have spent at least two-thirds of your career advocating, advocating, lobbying, pleading and demanding, St. Clair’s, in a facility of this size and appearance, will not be able to educate students in this way. We desperately needed to centralize our services.
“Your philosophy of providing the best possible service to your student experience at the University ensures that this Welcome Center will provide students with new and improved convenience, efficiency and effectiveness for generations to come.” It was achieved because we were ready.”

“The construction of a new facility of this kind sends an important message to our students,” said Rishi Vatis, president of the Student Representative Council.
“This shows that the university pays close attention to providing us not only with knowledge in the classroom and skills in the laboratory and workshop, but also with providing us with excellent services to pursue our education. It means.”
While the service has been available for years, bringing access together in one place means “housing the service in a much more accessible, convenient, and attractive environment than before.” , meaning that their services have become even better and the best they can be. This incident,” Vatisch said.
