Shop the hyped Levi’s x McLaren collection before it’s too late

It’s no secret that F1 has long been a somewhat male-dominated club. There are only 20 drivers competing in the sport at any one time, and they’re all men. Their bosses are men, and their teams are mostly made up of men. So it’s no surprise that women are rarely targeted when it comes to merchandise, and especially when it comes to women who are interested in fashion.actually I want to wear anything that’s on the market right now. Fortunately, the Netflix documentary series has been a big hit and F1 has boomed. Drive to Survivea new wave of motorsport content creators, and a movie starring Brad Pitt ( trailer (Just released) Fashion brands are more involved with the sport than ever before, which is why stylish F1 collections have become much more prevalent in recent years. But for me, a fashion editor who spends a lot of time watching cars race at high speeds, it wasn’t until this month that I came across an F1 collection that ticked all the boxes.

On July 3, Levi’s unveiled an exciting new collaboration collection with one of Formula 1’s most iconic teams, McLaren. With both companies rooted in history – the original denim brand launched its first pair of jeans in 1873, and driver Bruce McLaren launched his eponymous team in 1963 – the partnership made perfect sense, as did the decision to celebrate the collaboration at the 2024 British Grand Prix, an event that’s 74 years old and the home race for both McLaren and its star driver, Lando Norris. The small but mighty debut collection includes just seven pieces: a denim racing suit, patchwork 501s, and two jean jackets (one in Levi’s famous tracker style, the other more traditional in the world of motorsport, with a snap-on strap around the neck and a white racing stripe down the bottom).

I’m not the only F1 fanatic and fashion conscious person who is desperate to fill their wardrobe with relevant pieces that are easy to wear, look good, and are a departure from the overpriced, boring merch that fans have been served for so long. So I knew this collection would sell out fast, especially after Levi’s held various events in London to celebrate it. And I was right, pieces are already sold out. Shop what’s left below and see how I’ve styled my pieces from the just-released Levi’s x McLaren collection. If the piece you want is already sold out, don’t worry, your local Levi’s may still have it in stock.

For F1 fans, nothing beats the jet lag of a JFK to LHR overnight flight like a trip to the McLaren Technology Centre. Trust me, I’ve just experienced it. Last week, after a long journey and about 30 minutes of sleep, I caught a coach from London to Woking, home of McLaren’s sprawling headquarters. For the occasion, I teamed the collection’s star light-wash racing jacket (featuring a variety of vintage McLaren patches and “McLaren Racing” embroidered on the back) with a white Levi’s T-shirt, Donny’s staple Capri pants, black By Fur mules and a Prada 1995 Re-Edition bag. Of course, I had to document this look in front of the MTC’s spire-like exterior (subtly used as a set for the new film). Star Wars series Andre).

This is the first of two ways I’ve styled this vintage-inspired jacket, and it shows just how versatile and easy to wear it is. I honestly don’t know what I would have done on this trip without it, because before I flew out of NYC, everyone told me it would be hot, but it actually was 50 degrees Fahrenheit (and raining!) the entire trip. Naturally, I didn’t bring any outerwear, so having unique outerwear options to throw on over my summery outfits was the biggest blessing.
