The Israeli military suspended leave for all combat troops amid fears that Iran would attack in retaliation for last week’s attack on the Syrian embassy.
“Following the assessment of the situation, it has been decided to temporarily suspend leave for all IDF (Israel Defense Forces) combat units,” the military announced Thursday.
“The Israel Defense Forces are at war and the deployment of troops is continually evaluated according to requirements.”
The Army is also recruiting additional reservists for its air defense forces.
According to reports, GPS services over major cities have been disrupted in a move apparently intended to evade guided missiles.
Iran has vowed to retaliate against Israel’s alleged airstrike on Tehran’s embassy in Damascus.
At least seven people were killed, including General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a senior commander in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) believed to be responsible for Iranian operations in Syria and Lebanon.
