Units from the four divisions of the Iranian Army: Ground Forces, Navy, Air Force and Air Defense Forces participated in a parade across Iran on Tuesday morning.
A ceremony was held in the capital, Tehran, near the mausoleum of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini, with the participation of senior government and military officials, including President Ebrahim Raisi.
However, the infantry march was canceled this year because it coincided with Ramadan, the Muslim holy month of fasting.
A wide range of military equipment was displayed at the ceremony, including missiles, tanks, armored vehicles, rifles, unmanned aerial vehicles, fighter aircraft, radar systems and missile defense systems.
Meanwhile, dozens of aircraft, including domestically produced aircraft and fighter jets purchased from abroad, conducted aerial maneuvers over Tehran.
In the south, the navy held a maritime parade in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman featuring various types of ships, including destroyers.
Raishi warns the enemy
President Ebrahim Raisi, speaking at a ceremony in Tehran, warned extra-regional forces stationed in the region, especially U.S. military personnel, that it was in their own interest to leave as soon as possible.
He warned that “the enemy, especially the Zionist regime, has very well received the message that even the smallest action against the country will be met with an overwhelming response by the military, leading to the destruction of Haifa and Tel Aviv.”
Meanwhile, the president praised the Army’s achievements and progress, saying the Army is a “strong barrier” against enemies, including counter-revolutionary and terrorist organizations, and a protector of the frontier.
“Our armed forces build regional security and the message of Army Day is peace and friendship in the region,” he added.
