COS calls for flat shoe summer with these anti-trend styles

I always admire people who go out in sky high heels every day, but my personal style is comfort. Comfy pants, easy dresses, and flat shoes are my personal trinity, especially during the summer months. A key feature of warm weather clothing is ease of wear, and luckily for me (and you), the latest fashion trends align.

In recent years, designers have put the wearer back at the center of their designs and focused on practicality. Take note of the return of the classic tote bag, a takeover from the micro-silhouette that only held lip balm and a bank card, and the return of the shoe that most people expected: ballet flats. Just the other day, Gucci unveiled its Cruise 2025 collection, featuring models striding around the Tate Modern wearing horsebit-accented ballet flats. But without a Gucci budget, I turned to the high street to find my own flats for summer. COS offered three standout flat shoe styles, all of which are sure to be a hit this summer.

What Nnena is wearing is COS buckled ballet flats (£115).
