Edmonton kicks off Canadian Final Rodeo (CFR) Rodeo Week with an authentic bull drive through the city’s downtown core.
Rodeo Week is Edmonton’s 40-year-old CFR’s week-long welcome party, running from October 2nd to 5th. The festivities began at noon on Wednesday with a full-fledged bull run like no other. Starting from, via Downtown 15 Sir Winston will parade near Churchill Square and the Ice District Fun Park at 102 Street and 104 Avenue.

The cattle drive is Led by experienced ranchers and rodeo experts, a spectator area has been established in the southwest corner of the fun park.
The running of the bulls was not announced in advance because organizers wanted to surprise Edmonton residents.
Rodeo Week features a variety of events each day, including the Canadian Country Expo, a black tie bingo fundraiser for the Rodeo Cowboys Charitable Fund, a chili cook-off, daily tailgate parties, and evening all-ages parties.
CFR began in Edmonton in 1974 and was held there until 2018 when it moved to Red Deer on a 10-year contract. It was canceled in 2020 due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, but resumed in 2021.
