Caitlyn reacts to missing the Olympic team
Fox News The Athletic’s Shams Charania was quoted as saying on “Run It Back” on Monday that Clark remains at the top of the list of alternates in case of injury. Kaitlyn said she wasn’t disappointed by the news that she wasn’t selected for the Olympic team.
“Honestly, I’m not disappointed. It just gives me a reason to work hard. It’s a dream. I hope I can be there one day. I guess it just gives me a little extra motivation. Remember, I hope I’ll be there again in four years.”
according to ESPNThe Indiana Fever basketball player also said she is excited to be cheering on the women heading to the Paris Olympics, despite not being selected for the national team.
“I’m excited for the girls on the team. I know that as a team they are the most competitive team in the world and I know it could have gone either way whether I was on the team or not. I’m rooting for them to win the gold medal. I was a kid who grew up watching the Olympics so it’s going to be fun to watch them compete.”
ESPN points out that this year’s list does not include any players under the age of 26 — Kaitlyn was 22 as of January — but the U.S. has previously selected a WNBA No. 1 pick in an Olympic year, and Kaitlyn was selected this year.

Her main goal was to lead Iowa to the Final Four and qualify for the national championship. Reflecting on her invitation to the camp, Caitlin spoke of her lifelong dream of making the Olympic team and called it the highlight of her career.

Clarke discusses Chennedy Carter foul
Kaitlyn also reflected on not being selected for the U.S. Olympic women’s basketball team, Chennedy Carter A public apology.
As The Shade Room previously reported, during Saturday’s (June 1) basketball game between the Indiana Fever and the Chicago Sky, Chennedy Carter collided with Kaitlyn during an inbounds play, knocking her to the ground. The incident occurred during the third quarter of the game.
After Chennedy took the shot, Aaliyah Boston tried to inbound the ball to Clark, and replays show Chennedy yelling a few words before pinning Kaitlyn down with her shoulders and slamming her to the ground.
“No, I know basketball is competitive. Emotions can get the better of you. I’ve been there a lot of times throughout my career, people are competitive. That’s the reality. She’s having a great season. She’s playing great basketball. She’s No. 1 player of the year, No. 6, she came off the bench and she’s been great for the team. That’s not my focus and it’s not something I think about day to day. I think about the team and how I can get better. At the end of the day, it’s just basketball. At the end of the day, it’s a sport and it’s not always going to be good situations.”
Caitlin Clark was asked whether she should receive a public apology from Chennedy Carter.
“No… I don’t have any grudges. There’s nothing like that. It’s a sport. It’s a competition. It’s not always a good thing.” pic.twitter.com/ZZOujnXmis

“I’m not answering Caitlin Clark’s questions.” Chennedy said.
