In just three months, WNBA star Brittney Griner and her wife, Sherrell, will meet the love of their lives.
The couple recently announced the exciting news that they are expecting their first child in July.

at the joint Instagram In the post, the couple revealed the big news with a photo of them holding hands next to a photo from an ultrasound. They shared the news using #BabyGrinerComingSoon and #April2024 with the caption, “I can’t believe it’s less than 3 months until I meet the love of my life.”
In just a few hours, their post received over 45,000 likes and a flood of positive congratulatory messages.
WNBA star Brianna Stewart, who just gave birth to her second child a few months ago, wrote, “We’ve got an extra baby.” Another WNBA star, Alesha Clark, also wrote, “Congratulations!!!”
The WNBA also came along and said, “Yay!!!” And Greiner’s team, the Phoenix Mercury, wrote, “Baby Greiner.”

Phoenix Mercury also shares Baby Greiner’s Instagram post
Greiner, 33, recently resigned from his longtime WNBA team, the Phoenix Mercury.they shared some Instagram Posting in honor of the newest member of the Greiner family.
Their first post was a repost of Greiner’s birth announcement with the caption, “Baby Greiner, the latest BG.” And in a second post, she shared 1 wearing a Griner onesie next to a WNBA basketball.
More messages of congratulations were posted in the comments section of these posts.
“I love this so much,” one person wrote, while another added, “Oh my god! There’s a baby craze going on in the WNBA.”

Brittney Greiner calls Phoenix ‘home’
Greiner spent his entire WNBA career in Phoenix and was the No. 1 pick in the 2013 WNBA Draft. She recently resigned from the Mercury ahead of the 2024 season. “Phoenix is home,” Greiner said in a press release from her team.
“The love and support my wife and I have received from our organization, community and X-Factor over the past 11 years has meant everything to us,” she said. “I’m excited to continue my career in a Mercury jersey and work to bring another championship back to the Valley.”

Last season, Greiner averaged 17.5 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists. She ranks second in the league in field goal percentage, third in blocks, and is third on the WNBA’s all-time blocks list. Greiner helped the Mercury win the WNBA title in 2014 and is a two-time Olympic gold medalist with the United States.

Brittney Greiner’s memoir will be published in the next few weeks
Greiner was detained in Russia in February 2022, tried on drug charges, and sent to a Russian penal colony after customs officials at Moscow airport said they found e-cigarette cartridges containing cannabis oil in his luggage. He was sentenced to nine years in prison.
The WNBA star began serving his sentence in November 2022 and was released on Dec. 8, 2022, after President Joe Biden negotiated his release in exchange for a Russian arms dealer. The Mercury star is expected to return to court in May 2023 and publish her memoirs chronicling her experiences in Russia.
In an Instagram post a few weeks ago, Greiner shared information about her book “Coming Home,” which will be released on May 7th.
“COMING HOME is a story of hope and survival before and after. Before heading to my second home in Russia, I was excited to win another title. I played there for eight seasons and won a championship. “Been there, lived there for a long time, and after a while, away from the world, I woke up after no one wanted me to,” she wrote in an Instagram caption.
“COMING HOME begins with the land where my roots were nurtured and is a diary of my heartache and regrets. But ultimately, this book is about my family, my faith, and my coming together in my deliverance.” It’s also a story about how the support of millions of people helped. I Endure the Nightmare.”

Brittney Greiner to participate in U.S. basketball team’s Olympic training camp
Greiner said he has no intention of going overseas again to play, but said he would go to compete in the Olympics.
Earlier this year, the U.S. Women’s National Basketball Team announced its training camp roster, which included Greiner. Also on the roster are Diana Taurasi, Chelsea Gray, Jewel Lloyd, Kelsey Plumb, Brianna Stewart, Ariel Atkins, Aja Wilson, Jackie Young, Shakira Austin, Aliyah Boston, Sabrina Ionescu and Ryne Howard. Names are listed.
The Paris Summer Olympics will begin on July 26th. The Mercury’s season begins on May 14th against the defending champion Las Vegas Aces.
