BMI announced its signature panel, “Music and Film: The Creative Process,” on Monday, January 22, at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival at The Box in Park City, Utah. The conversation focused on the music of the film “Exhibition Forgiveness,” which had its world premiere at the festival and is in dramatic competition. Panelists included the film’s director Titus Kafer Grammy, Golden Globe Award-winning BMI singer-songwriter and actress Andra Day, and BMI composer Jerek Bischoff. The ensemble explores the power behind Exhibiting Forgiveness, how original music can shape a story, and the magic that brings this film to life through the fusion of sound and visuals. He talked about his musical vision. The panel was moderated by Tracy McKnight, BMI’s vice president of creative, film, television and visual media, and concluded with an audience Q&A.
BMI opened Sundance on Saturday, January 20th by hosting a private dinner for composers and key industry executives at 350 Main Brasserie restaurant in Park City, Utah.
