Chicago Bears wide receiver Keenan Allen is among the team’s absent players and will miss Sunday night’s road game against the Houston Texans.
Fellow wide receiver Rome Odunze is also expected to play in the game.
Allen did not practice this week after aggravating a heel injury he sustained in last week’s season opener against the Tennessee Titans, while Odunze sprained his knee against the Titans and returned to practice on a limited basis on Friday.
Bears head coach Matt Eberflus said both players will be decided on game day. Both Allen (908 career receptions) and Odunze (the ninth overall pick in the 2024 draft) are in their first seasons with Chicago.
The Bears’ other suspended players are offensive lineman Kyran Amegazie, fullback Kali Blasingame, receiver Verath Jones Jr., defensive lineman Dominique Robinson and linebacker Noah Sewell.
Texans running back Damon Pierce (hamstring) is out. Other absences for Houston include linebackers Jamal Hill and Rashad Weaver, safety MJ Stewart, receiver John Metchie III and offensive lineman Juice Scruggs.
