Algiers, January 24, 2024 – Said Chanegriha, Commander of the Algerian Army Corps and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP), welcomed the Sierra Leone Army Chief of Staff in Algiers on Wednesday. Sierra Leone military officials are leading a large delegation on an official visit to Algeria.
The visit is aimed at strengthening ties and increasing cooperation between the two countries, as outlined in a statement from the Ministry of Defense (MDN).
During the meeting, General Changriha expressed the Algerian Armed Forces’ commitment to developing military cooperation with Sierra Leone and emphasized the trust and cooperation that are the basis of this partnership.
Meanwhile, the Chief of Staff of the Sierra Leone Armed Forces emphasized that both sides were in agreement on the various security issues discussed during the meeting.
This diplomatic engagement underscores Algeria’s continued efforts to promote regional security and cooperation and strengthen ties with African countries. Exchanges of high-level military delegations signify a shared commitment to addressing common challenges and promoting cooperative approaches to regional and international security.
