Ritchson started her career as a successful model and says she was one of the top earners at her agency. During this period, he was booked for nude photo shoots by famous photographers. The envisaged agreement stated that this particular assignment would lead to larger opportunities, such as features in prominent magazines and campaigns for major clothing brands.
However, the reality of that experience turned out to be far more sinister. “I was sexually assaulted by this person,” Ritchson said, without naming him. The aftermath of the incident was immediate.
“I was sexually assaulted by this man. I left there, went straight to my agency, which was in Los Angeles, and said, ‘Fuck you for sending me there.’ I knew what was going to happen, but I did it anyway,” Ritchson said, adding that the agent did not express shock at the report of the assault.
“I quit the industry and this was my last photoshoot. Those photos were never seen and never published. That was that,” Ritchson continued. “I committed to it, and I’m grateful that acting found me at exactly the same time and I was able to switch to a new career. But it left some scars. ”
